TripAdvisor has been looking at the automotive space for over a year and a half now. And while its rankings, reviews and recommendations are now available through the likes of Harman and Citroën, the travel website has yet to deliver a service that would allow drivers to build complex travel itineraries and make those available in the car at the push of a button.
In July, Kenny joined Facebook’s senior solutions engineer Bruce Hazan at TU’s Content & Apps for Automotive Europe 2013 in Munich to discuss integrating popular consumer content on the move.
After the panel discussion, he spoke to TU’s Jan Stojaspal about trying to solve what he called the “moving puzzle” of content integration, a situation where many incremental changes in how content is integrated into cars do not quite add up to something resemling a seamless experience. He also discussed the role of social media in personalizing in-car content.
Jan Stojaspal is the editor of Telematics Update.
