Telematics Update has today announced that the President & COO of Panasonic Automotive Systems of America, Tom Gebhardt and Tim Yerdon, Director at Visteon will join the brand-new C-level super panel that is taking centre stage at Telematics Detroit 2014

The C-level super-panel will discuss how connectivity is shaping the future of mobility, and this conversation would not be possible without leading technology firms such as Visteon and Panasonic joining the debate alongside OEMs. Visteon and Panasonic can blend their respective technological expertise in automotive and consumer electronics to provide a comfortable, safe and convenient in-car experience that provides a seamless link to the fully connected lifestyle.

Telematics Detroit 2014 will be the place where the automotive, consumer electronics, web and mobile industries converge to understand changing tech. and business paradigms and strategize with cross-industry partners as connectivity begins the process of changing the face of mobility.

Tech Giants Want a Piece of the Action

Global technology companies including Sony, LG, Huawei, Motorola and more are already signed up to attend Telematics Detroit 2014. This illustrates, unequivocally, the importance that tech companies are placing on the connected car as a part of their future strategy. With expertise in the consumer electronics space, and now often with large dedicated automotive departments, these companies are pushing the boundaries of the in-car experience, contributing to the car seamlessly fitting into the connected lifestyle. Event director, Gareth Ragg stated; “we are very excited to have such senior representatives from Panasonic and Visteon join the OEMs on the super-panel at Telematics Detroit”, he continued “devising strategies for the future of the connected car has to include looking beyond the automotive space into other verticals, including consumer electronics and further still into Silicon Valley”.
